Christen Campbell is the Director of Site Development for BASF’s largest North American manufacturing site located in Geismar, Louisiana. She is also the Energy & Verbund Management Director across all BASF North American sites. She oversees the Geismar Site Development Plan, Site Strategy and Master Plan, Site Sustainability Strategy and Commission, Site Business Development, Verbund Management and Optimization, and Third-Party Partner Management. Additionally, she oversees the North American Energy and Verbund Management Center of Expertise and supports all NA sites with Renewable Energy and Sustainability Goals, Energy Efficiency, Optimization, and Strategies, including Energy Management (ISO50001), End-to-End Process Optimization, and Large Capital Projects. BASF manufactures a wide variety of consumer and industrial intermediate products as one of the largest companies globally in creating chemistry for a sustainable future.
Christen joined BASF in 2012 as the Southeast Hub Process Safety Management/Risk Management Program Specialist. In 2017, she joined the Geismar Site Leadership Team and became the Southeast Procurement Hub Manager responsible for 20+ sites from Louisiana to South Carolina. In 2016, Christen was honored with a National Award for emerging young leaders in the world of manufacturing from the Manufacturing Institute (STEP ahead). In 2018, she was named one of Louisiana’s 1012 Industry Report: Louisiana’s 20 Young Industry Leaders to Watch and is a graduate and mentor of the Female Leaders Advancing Manufacturing Excellence (flame) Program at BASF. She was named a 2022 Top Forty under 40 leader and a 2023 Capital Region Top 500 most powerful and influential leaders by the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report. Christen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a Master’s in Business Administration from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She resides in Ascension Parish with her husband Josh and their four children – Kayah, Korah, Carolina & Kagan.
